On ariving at Anne’s charming Ronen Chen shop in Portman Village I was relieved to find that the fresh white surroundings were perfect for taking PR portraits. My studio lights stayed in the car and I was able to work entirely with natural light. Anne called me a week ago requesting some PR photographs and given she is so busy we had to fit the shoot into a couple of hours and there wasn’t time for me to check out the location or do any real planning. When meeting Anne O’Dowd, she looks so young it is hard to believe that she already has thirty years of experience in the fashion business. She is known for her ability to find cool brands and has an exciting career which included helping to launch many exciting designer brands for Liberty, helping to set up GAP in the UK and now launching Ronen Chen in her two shops in Marylebone and Temple Fortune. Anne’s love of fashion originally brought her to the UK from Ireland where she set up a stall in Camden for vintage clothing when she was 16 years old.
While Anne was having her makeup done I had a little browse through the colourful rails of Ronen Chen clothes. Ronen is an Israeli designer and his work is gaining global recognition and is favoured by lots of celebrities including Pamela Stephenson, Christina Rihanoff and the International star of hit TV series Lost, Elizabeth Mitchell. well, if it’s good enough for Elizabeth…. These cleverly cut fashion gems are specifically designed for forty something women. Regrettably I didn’t have time to try anything on but I’ll be back! Ladies, if you would like to take a peek check out the online store http://www.ronenchenstoreuk.com/
